Early saints of East Anglia
This millennium banner in St Mary's church, Martham, shows two of the early East Anglian saints ; Felix and Fursey. Felix, from Burgundy, was based at Dunwich in the 7th century and set up a successful school in the area. Fursey, his contemporary, came from Ireland and was noted for his visions. One of these visions is referenced on the banner, showing the four swans which led him through a fire.
The banners were designed by local artist, Rachel Thomas-Dee and sewed and quilted by local parishioners.
