Since the local volunteer fire department is no longer allowed to burn buildings down in training exercises, a DIY approach was required. In this case, an artificial fireplace log placed on the top shelf of the pantry - it seemed to be as central as one could get and the ceiling of the pantry was formed by the attic stairs.
