Jimdog's House

I've always been drawn towards the documentary style photography that captures people (and animals, I suppose) in their own environment. The spaces people inhabit tell you more about them than the people do. OK, p'raps this doesn't apply to dogs, but it tells you something about their existence - an insight into their world.

This photo isn't quite there. There is not enough in view to generate a real picture outside of Jimdog's mind. But just like those old black and white, and sometimes aged and desaturated colour pictures I have seen from the 70s and 80s, it's the little details that catch my eye. The horrendous wallpaper and elaborate doilies adorning coffee tables. In this instance it's the ariel sat atop the window sill. The unkempt wire snaking its way toward the TV, and that small impression decorating the wall. As philosophical as he appears to be, I doubt Jimdog cares about these details in the ways I do, but that's Jimdog's house. And it's the house he knows.
