Looking For Love
I suppose people are not that different than birds - we get dressed up when looking for love too. In this case, we spotted some Avocet's in a large puddle near a backroad in Saskatchewan last summer. They were all dressed up in their breeding colors with that rusty head and neck. Non breeding or immature birds have greyish white heads. This one seemed more intent on finding a meal rather then a partner.
I thought about removing some of the debris in the upper left and lower right corners but it kind of balances out and nothing in nature is ever perfect. A gray overcast sky reflected in the water also gave the image more of a high key effect that isolated the bird.
