In The Shadow Of Giants

Loggers see dollar signs in these trees but when standing in the shadow of giants, one cannot help but get a sense of irony with each of us - a small presence time wise, but an overwhelming impact on the environment. Old forest trees have wood that's stronger and denser than 2nd generation growth as well as more trees per hectare - making them a prime target for the chain saw. "However, old-growth trees are more valuable standing when factoring in the economic and intrinsic benefits for tourism, scenery, recreation, wildlife, clean water, wild salmon, endangered species, carbon storage, and First Nations cultures." ancientforestalliance.org/ancient-forests/common-question...

The patchy light made exposure here a bit tricky and I didn't like the two boards next to the tree, but overall, I think it does convey the sense of awe one feels in this place.
