Fire and Ice
At the end of June, we had the opportunity to drive down the Icefields Parkway. Extending 232 km between Jasper and Lake Louise its rated to be one of the most scenic drives in the world and we were really looking forward to it - until we were storm stayed in Jasper an extra night due to a snowstorm. We did manage to go the next day but between heavy snow, clouds, and fog, we missed a lot of the scenery. What we did see was beautiful and we managed to miss the worst of the wildfires. Talking with a friend in Calgary afterwards, he said, welcome to the land of fire and ice!
