Patterns
The combination of blowing snow and sand created some interesting patterns on the beach. Even with the difference in color, the two merge together so well that it's hard to tell which is which until you step on it - and your foot sinks into the snow. With this image, I was experimenting with light and shadow in the patterns.
Those mounds in the distance are shore ice created by waves pushing water up through holes in the ice - creating mini volcanos on the surface. If you're walking on top and fall into one, it can be impossible to get out on your own.
