Synonymous
Newfoundland and fishing were virtually synonymous for a long time. It must have been hard on people when the cod fishery collapsed several years ago. A whole way of life gone almost overnight. Now with many who sought work in Albert's oil patch coming back home after the bottom fell out of oil prices, Newfoundlanders can't be having an easy time of it.
It's an amazing place to visit and the people are very welcoming so hopefully, tourism will make up some of the shortfall. Watching the advertisements brings back great memories and makes me want to go back:
