Baffle Ice
A freezing rain storm lasting all day caused a lot of havoc - there were widespread power outages, tree branches knocked down, entire trees fallen over, closed roads, and everything was coated in a layer of ice.
This image was taken right side up on a cedar branch and it was the odd formations that caught my eye. I'm still trying to figure out how the icicles formed like that - hence the title, "baffle ice." My best guess is that it was a wind blown effect. Any other ideas?
