Miwa Haiden

Front of the very striking Haiden. Unlike just about every other shrine, there's no Honden for the kami since the hill itself acts as the 'sacred body' of the kami... The building was built in the Edo period though something was first put up in the sixth century it's thought. Before that worship was in front of sacred rocks...
