This Could Work...

I schlepped my monopod all over Manhattan like this, and I could hardly tell it was there. It may not be that smooth with the tripod, but I certainly need to give it a test drive or two.

I've got the head looped through the ice axe loop on the bottom, and the center post of the tripod clipped into the upper strap, then a bungee ball to hold the legs together.
