Dallas Baptist University
DBU's forerunner, Decatur Baptist College, was founded in 1898 as the first junior college in Texas. For years, the school called the small town of Decatur home, producing outstanding young men and women who filled churches, classrooms, hospitals, and businesses around the nation.
In 1965, the school relocated to the scenic foothills of southwest Dallas, becoming a four-year institution and eventually being renamed Dallas Baptist University when it began offering graduate-level degrees.
Today, DBU has a variety of degrees on the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. Well into our second century, DBU continues to press forward in our mission to produce servant leaders who will transform the world.

- 10 years after DBU won the 2011 Fort Worth Regional, the Patriots clinched the 2021 Fort Worth Regional to send DBU to their second trip to the Super Regionals in school history. DBU's win over Oregon State on June 7 came 10 years and one day after their regional title win over Oral Roberts on June 6, 2011, at Lupton Stadium.
- With DBU's trip to the postseason in 2021, DBU is making their seventh consecutive trip to the NCAA Regionals (excluding the 2020 canceled season). The Patriots are just one of six teams in the country to reach the postseason each year since 2014 joining the likes of Florida, Florida State, LSU, Oklahoma State, and Vanderbilt.
- DBU joined the NCAA Division I ranks in 2004 and became eligible for the postseason in 2006. During that 15-year span (excluding the 2020 season due to COVID), the Patriots have reached the NCAA Regionals 10 times beginning with their first trip in 2008.
- The Patriots have reached the finals in each of their last six trips to the NCAA Regionals beginning with the 2015 Dallas Regional. DBU also reached the finals of the Fort Worth Regional (2017 and 2021), the Lubbock Regional (2016 and 2019), as well as the 2018 Fayetteville Regional.
- The only other time DBU reached the field of 16 came when the Patriots faced the Cal Bears in the 2011 Santa Clara Super Regionals. DBU dropped both games to Cal, ending their dream season just two wins shy of reaching the College World Series.
- DBU will face Virginia for the second time in the postseason. In 2017, the Patriots and Cavaliers met in the Fort Worth Regional. After dropping their first game to the Cavaliers, 6-3, DBU bounced back to eliminate Virginia, 11-8. With the win, the Patriots reached the finals against TCU.
