Delphine Ugalde by Constantin (1)

Delphine (Beaucé) Ugalde (1829-1910); French soprano. At the age of 11 she already performed in a concert with great singers as Rubini, Tamburini and Lablache. In 1848 she had her debut at the Opéra-Comique. During her career she created 21 première-roles. In 1871 she left the stage and worked as a voice-teacher; her most famous pupils were her own daughter Marguerite and Marie Sasse.

 

On the photo she is seen in the rôle she created of Galathée in Massé 's eponymous opera (1852).
