The visable light spectrum through a glass prism

This old glass prism was one of two given to my brother and I as children by our father, something he had been given by his father. They were of a type used in lighthouses to reflect the light of the lamp, but when and where they were used, I do not know. Of the two, this is the only survivor, what become of the other I don't know? I passed this one to my daughter some years ago and today we were just playing around with it to get a few photos of the light refraction.
