First 30285, Carlton, South Yorkshire, 2017
First Manchester 30285, formerly GMPTE / GM Buses 5302 was a Northern Counties, MCW Metrobus that had been new in 1986. After withdrawal by First Manchester in the early 2000s, the bus was acquired by the SELNEC Preservation Society. On the sad loss of the SELNEC Preservation Society's founder Anthony Wyer, a large number of ex Manchester buses acquired by the Society were disposed of.
Parked outside for a number of years, 5302 was stripped for spares and the hulk complete with its mechanical units was dispatched to PVS of Carlton for disposal. The bus is seen on its arrival at the breaker's yard on 21st July 2017.
On the upside, I know that both the engine and the gearbox out of the bus found new owners, but the rest of the vehicle would have been broken up not long after this photo was taken.
