Derby CT 218, St Peters Street, Derby, 1966
Frozen in time to film, Derby Corporation trolleybus 218 is captured crossing Albert Street into Corn Market from St Peter's Street in 1966. The trolleybus, a Willowbrook bodied Sunbeam F4 was new in 1952, part of a larger batch of these trolleybuses (216-235, DRC216-235), delivered new to Derby Corporation between 1952 and 1953. The entire batch of 20 trolleybuses soldiered on until 1967, when the system was closed.
Today, the only survivor from this batch is 224, which ran on the last day of trolleybus operations in September 1967.
Scanned form the original 35mm transparency held in my archive.
