Ex WMT 1502, Channel 6, Wolverhampton, 1999

After withdrawal by West Midlands Travel, Leyland National 1502 found further use with 'Channel 6', a company based at Mill Farm, Pendeford in Wolverhampton.

Channel 6 provided on-location services for film and TV crews, using former buses converted for various purposes connected with the industry.

In 1999, the company operated three ex West Midlands buses, the other two being sister Leyland National 1509 (TOE509N), and Leyland Fleetline 6648 (SDA648S). They also used an ex Wallace Arnold, Plaxton bodied Bedford YRQ, JWX94N.

The ex WM buses served different functions, 1502 as a make-up bus, 1509 as a costume/wardrobe bus and 6648, along with JWX94N as canteen/hospitality vehicles.

I don't know how long they lasted with Channel 6, or indeed how long 'Channel 6 Film & Television Transport Facilities Ltd' lasted?
