Millennium, Book Early
A left over from the Millennium celebrations of 1999/2000, seen on a closed fancy dress shop in Alfreton Road, Canning Circus, Nottingham ten years after the event.
It certainly brings back memories of the hype of the Millennium celebrations, the mad panic to get the Millennium Dome (now the O2 Arena) finished on time; funded by the British taxpayer at a cost of millions to celebrate the coming of third millennium. Everybody seemed to want to cash in on the Millenium, silver coloured gifts of every description under the sun, and do you remember the over-priced tickets to the pubs, clubs and restaurants for the New Year’s eve parties, what a flop it all was, as millions of us stayed at home to see in the year 2000.
