'Dot Cotton' out and about in Burnley

Following de-regulation of bus services in the UK in 1986, bus operators tried all sorts of ingenious methods to attract people on to their buses. Burnley and Pendle, certainly weren't unique in using ex London Transport, AEC Routemaster buses for their novelty value, as a means of tempting people onto to public transport. They were however, the only operator that I can think of who named each of their RMs after characters from the dowdy television soap 'East Enders'! Clever marketing stuff in its day, but unlike the dreary TV show, it was fairly short lived. Anyway, here's 'Dot Cotton'...Yes, Dot Cotton, probably better known as RM2087, in Croft Street, Burnley on 2nd August 1988.
