Hampden Street trolleybus reverser, North Ormesby, Teesside, 1970.

Having reversed into Hampden Street at North Ormesby, Teesside trolleybus No6 (GAJ16) is about to pull forward to make the right turn into Smeaton Street, where it will load with intending passengers before begining its next journey across Town to Easton.

This small, but long lived trolleybus system finally closed on Sunday 18th April 1971.

As for Smeaton Street, Hampden Street, High Street and part of South Bank Road, this part of North Ormesby was completely obliterated to make way for the construction of the A66.
