Giselle And The Wilis
by Chic Bee
The Wilis, made famous in the ballet Giselle, are female spirits who, jilted before their wedding day, rise from their graves at night and seek revenge upon men by dancing them to death.
This set is of a modern dance piece Choreographed and set by Mister Norman Walker for Arizona Ballet Theatre's dance magic in The Stevie Eller Dance Theatre on the campus of The University of Arizona in Tucson - June 2008
The original set of photos by Jen Gorowsky, was taken from the front row of the Stevie Eller Dance Theater during a premiere performance. Jen's daughter Karen was a Wili. I shoot from the back of the theatre.
I edited these photos for presentation and use by the Arizona Ballet Theatre. Now i am experimenting with the fun tools in Picnik.
