Portrait of Sweet Lovely Miss Schroedinger Two Months Before She Died
A portrait of happy and content Miss Schroedinger (aka Shrödinger's Cat)
Two months after this was taken, she died peacefully in her little house on her soft mat... At least she went quickly and under the influence of pain killers.
We are in a state of shock. We miss her terribly...
Miss Schroedinger, aka Shrödinger's Cat, was a beautiful calico feral cat. She adopted us about seven or eight years ago. She is getting much calmer. She now seeks lots of attention, and that often includes much petting, and a snack or two...
She began to live in our backyard full time. She has found a crevasse behind some book boxes. She would sleep there all day, and no longer leave for parts unknown at the arrival of rosy fingered dawn...
This last year, we put out some comfortable mats on the veranda. One was under a chair that was visible through floor to ceiling windows in the kitchen. another was on a side table, also visible from indoors. We did get her a more enclosed house because some winter nights were below freezing. She loved all these places.
In the last two years, she has really come to love being petted. For extended periods!! I had not realized that a skittish and wary feral cat could become so friendly and even confidant in her views of us...
