Love's Fleeting Eternal Flame ♥
Happy holidays to my loved ones... my delightful loving family and all my good friends...
This candle was one of five candles that were lit to celebrate the fifth day of Hanukkah 5773. They were lit after last night's prayers, at Congregation Chofetz Chayim in Tucson, Arizona. I was amongst the small band of men who remained at the Synagogue until the candles burned out completely. Then we went to join the delightful Hanukkah party at the Rabbi and Rebbetzen's house. I found waiting and talking to the other guys peaceful and moving in its simplicity and depth of feeling.
Hanukkah candles burn quickly and then they are gone... The beauty of the glow and the mystery in our hearts remain forever... It's the eternal miracle of love... Without love, life is not worth living... And with love's soaring happiness we are in the most beautiful portion of the flame... We are here and then we are gone. Our mistakes and our achievements are forgotten by this universe. Only love remains, pure, simple, and glowing forever...
The blue portion of the flame, where the combining of the candle wax's carbon with ambient oxygen occurs, is the hottest part... The white or yellow portions are condensing and glowing carbon ash. These are relatively cooler.
