Saguaro Quest
Saguaro cacti don’t begin to flower until they are quite tall. Much taller than any photographer. So it’s quite unusual to be looking downward into a saguaro flower. The only place I had taken such photos in the past was on a paved walking path on Tumamoc Mountain. I used to love walking up the mile and a half to the top with my walking stick. I could look downwards at the flowers on the saguaros growing below the trail. I can no longer manage that trail with a walker.
Today, on a ride to an ice cream shop, we discovered this stunted but healthy plant with many flowers growing on a street near Handmaker.
Long live serendipity!
