She’s a true inspiration growing up as the youngest of 12 adopted kids, with 10 siblings who also joined the Army. Her dad served over 30 years, and her mom was a writer who cared about helping others.
Nadja was inspired by her family, West Point, and even Mr. Spock from Star Trek! That love for science led her to become a doctor.
In 2015, she became the 44th Army Surgeon General, the first Black woman to become a lieutenant general and the highest-ranking woman ever to graduate from West Point.
