A Memory of Curbside Glory

One of my Fav Tucson Spring Gardens... This curbside garden is irrigated only in the spring... The flowers we see in this curbside garden include self seeding annuals like Linaria and Snapdragons; and perennials like Columbine... I believe the tree is a mesquite...

This is an example of landscape architecture creating livable gardens in dry areas.

The light quality was amazing... The day was bright and very overcast, so the light was even; illuminating evenly from all directions...

Linaria:

botanical name: linaria maroccana

common name: toadflax

also known as (Spurred Snapdragon)

Columbine or Aquilegia

The genus name Aquilegia is derived from the Latin word for eagle (aquila), because the shape of the flower petals, which are said to resemble an eagle's claw.

The common name "columbine" comes from the Latin for "dove", due to the resemblance of the inverted flower to five doves clustered together
