Wounds
I Fell On Sunday, March 27th I was taken to the hospital where they X-rayed my head and coccyx both of which hit the floor when I fell backward while attempting to step up onto a stool.
I called my son who came and helped me get up. he called the emergency number and a Tucson fire department emergency crew came. They examined me and questioned us about my condition and gave me blood tests and said I needed to go to the hospital for a full evaluation.
I have no idea why thy front of my leg has this open wound.
St. Joseph Hospital Emergency Triage unit did nothing to treat the open leg wound. I was in a state of shock. I said it needed treatment and implored them to treat it. They refused and discharged me despite my protests.
I have been taking Tylenol because of all the pain.
On Monday it was still an untreated open wound. My Bayada Aide, Heather, was concerned. She cleaned it and applied iodine and Neosporin ointment. On Tuesday she applied iodine and Bacitracin ointment. By Wednesday, it was swollen and hot to her touch.
Heather informed the Bayada nurse that she was taking me to the nearest NewGen Urgent Care facility.
They cleaned it, applied antibiotic ointment, bandaged it, and wrapped it. The nurse practitioner prescribed an oral antibiotic that I have been taking orally three times a day and the wound has been improving slowly.
________
It is still painful but improving as of Sunday night, April 3rd when I am posting this to Flickr. I am still taking Tylenol for the pain.
