A similar chart published many times over the p[ast two years in reputable newspapers of coronavirus seems to show that the virus never kills anyone on Sunday. Not one death, state to state. That is amazing. What does it mean? Is it really true?
If so, the virus must be super intelligent to know what day of the week it is.
It must also be amazingly skillful to be able to adjust the severity of the symptoms so as to not kill anyone on Sunday.
Does the choice of Sunday have a religious significance? Or is it just the secular day off for data gatherers? I vote for the second choice.
in addition, the virus must have a real mathematical sense to always show as perfect sine waves.
The weekly sinusoidal waveform is simply an unannounced smoothing of the data collection process. Someone doesn't work in Sundays. This means it is all a measurement artifact that should be removed from the data. The sinusoidal waves should never show up in published data at all.
** Note: The same discussion applies to the New Case data of the present charts.
