Nighttime Moon and Palm

I love taking pictures at night of colorful scenes. There is a surreal quality that I really enjoy. The trick is to hold the camera still. If you take a number of photos at the same time using the auto exposure mode, the chances are good that at least one will be at the end of a vibration motion cycle and will be quite sharp. Wide-angle landscapes are much easier to get right than longer focal lengths. The camera can be oriented vertically or horizontally.

Of course, long focal length photos of the moon are also very possible at high shutter speeds using the exposure time mode It's called T on Canon cameras. You choose the shutter speed and the camera sets the ISO for you.
