Adolescent Cooper's Hawk Devouring Its Prey On My Garden Fence
I shot this video from the passenger set through the driver's open window. Many thanks to my sharp-eyed aide Heather who spotted the bird and maneuvered the car to enable this series!!
This is the second position of the hawk after leaving its first position on the birdbath for the fence.
Before this, I had never actually observed a hawk eating its prey. I’ve been wondering why all the new White-Winged Doves had disappeared. If this Cooper’s Hawk eats one a day, that could explain it.
It is perched on my garden fence In Tucson, Arizona, USA.
