Giant Hemispherical Water Drop Sitting On Water In A Blue Bowl Before Bursting

I did post processing on the original to enhance the colors...

I couldn't sleep so I got up, went to the kitchen, and set up a slow drip of water into a blue bowl to see what would result. The drops often formed water spheres whose surface tension allowed them to float on the water surface in the bowl. After a few seconds, the surface membrane becomes too thin and they collapse.

The camera I had available doesn't have a high enough ISO rating to enable action photos in interior lighting at night. Since I am not skilled at using flash, I was limited to shooting slow phenomena.
