Early Morning White Cactus Flower In My Sonoran Desert Garden

These monsoon blooming cactus flowers are exquisite. Capturing their beauty does require getting up in the wee hours of the morning, since they bloom at night, and they begin to close as soon as the day warms up a bit, or when the sunshine hits them.

These photos surprised me. I am using a kit lens that came with the camera = Canon EF-S18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM. I have other lenses that may give better results. It would be fun to compare.

I really do not like to switch lenses because I don't like to let dust get new the sensor chips. This D70 camera is self cleaning. It vibrates the focal plane elements on powering the camera, both on and off. Still, I want to keep it pristine for photographing in the Arizona Ballet Theatre studios in Tucson, and in the Stevie Eller Dance Theatre.
