Cholla Cactus' Light Reflection Adaptation
My 4th Sabino Canyon Nature Walk of 2015. The white spines are not thorns. They are soft and their function is to shield the cholla plant from the hot dessert sun. The result is a very beautiful plant.
I was using an older Canon Powershot SX150 IS point-and-shoot camera because both my Canon SLR cameras were being repaired...;) It's not a bad P&S camera, however the lack of a viewfinder is a fatal flaw!!
