Antique Flower Pot <<>> Microcosm Of Planet Earth
Some plants I planted. Others just sprang up by themselves... They look good together.
This pot has contained and nurtured about four different gardens since last October. The spring flowering bulbs, including irises, daffodils, hyacinths, gladiolus have gone by. They have been replaced by Syrian Oregano, a perennial. Also other herbs and edible plants. I see Zinnias and Hollyhocks. I have had many different plants in this pot. Other names will come to me... Both annuals and perennials that I planted and then removed as the conditions have changed from cool winter to lovely spring to hot summer. These have included pansies, edible nasturtiums, and sweet alyssum.
Tucson's summers are a fierce challenge. Queen of Barbados does well, and I may add one. It is a hardy perennial here.
I see a few red leaf coxcombs growing. That's an African food crop.
I may add a Pomegranate bush for summer shade and delicious fruit. I would have to keep it well pruned. Chrysanthemums always look great in autumn, and they have long and repeat flowering seasons..
I love to have fig trees as I do in other pots because of their wonderful fruit and shade. Oh, I must add eggplant for the lovely flowers and delicious fruits for cooking. I have few in pots in the front garden...
I can't have them all in one medium sized pot, but I will keep trying and varying them...
It's never boring! LoL.
