The Flat Plane Is Filled By A Tessellation of Octagons and Squares <<>> High Contrast Reveals Only Light Squares

Tessellation involves filling a flat plane completely with geometric shapes. In this case it's with octagons and squares. In this shot, I used high contrast to suppress the octagons and highlight the squares.

I note that Maurice Cornelius Escher accomplished that feat with creatures of his own imagination instead of regular geometric figures...
