According to the iPhoto info function's map, we're standing very close to Sabino Lake in Sabino Canyon's Lower Riparian Area. The lake is formed by Sabino Canyon Dam. The red pins show some of the locations where I took some photos.
While the lake looks dry in this satellite shot, it had plenty of water this week...;))
Lots of interesting information plus flashes of humor... I learned a lot. I really recommend "A Naturalist's Guide to Sabino Canyon" by Ned Harris, Anne Green, and Carol Tornow.
It was like an outdoor class. A peripatetic school, as the Greek philosophers would have called it...
Ned Harris' Nature Walk in Sabino Canyon is really a treat... It's a great learning experience combined with healthy exercise. That's a really big plus...
