Founded in 1278, Buckland Abbey was the last of the Cistercian monasteries to be built in medieval England and Wales. It was later sold to Sir Francis Drake, the first Englishman to circumnavigate the globe. This is the "Cosmic Egg" sculpture by Andrew Logan, part of the Art of Reflection" exhibition hosted at Buckland Abbey at the time we were there.
