Nathan W. Chandler
Nathan Whittemore Chandler by unidentified photographer. A resident of Binghamton, N.Y., Chandler served his entire enlistment with Company H of the state's 109th Infantry. He started as a first sergeant and advanced to first lieutenant. Wounded at the Battle of The Wilderness on May 6, 1864, and again at Petersburg, Va. on June 17, 1864, he resigned due to disability in November of that year. He lived until 1917.
