New Zealand Government Railways Class J1208 - Departing Greymouth for Otira - 25Feb1969 - 03902pxxn

On a visit to the West Coast with Jack Creber just before the use of steam locomotives ended. We teamed up with Wilson Lythgoe (on the signal box) and Paul Markholm (standing on the trackside) for an enjoyable couple of days of rail photography on the Coast and then over the other side on our way home a train chase of Ja1266 from Middleton to Ashburton. The negative strip for this one was lost in Samoa around 2000 when scanning was a brand new game and I gave it to someone that had the gear and they lost it. So, this scan was kindly provided in 2016 by Graeme McClare out of his father Jacks collection much to my surprise. I am suspecting, I probably back in 1969, supplied a large photo for inclusion in the YARN magazine which Jack was associated with back then. Strange old world!!!!!
