Approaching Tasman Island
A bit cliffy
Banking in for a landing on top
They do 1000ft cliffs rather well down there
100ft high Tasman Island lighthouse, built 1906. Now automated.
An ex-Tasman Island Lighthouse keeper as our tour guide.
Standing on the ground floor looking up at the first landing. Construction is by all those steel panels bolted together.
Looking north at Cape Pillar
Looking west at Cape Raoul from up top
The other 2 houses
The largest of the 3 houses for the staff and their families that manned the Island before automation in 1976
Nice views out the window
Wild place
Cape Pillar with a wide angle lens that makes it look smaller than 1000ft
Moody B&W
And after a all to brief 2 hour stay, it was back in the chopper to our Safety Cove departure point
