Sun Bathing
The Canadian Goose has a black head and long black neck. Its head also tends to have bits of white patch on it. Its nest is usually located in an elevated area near water such as streams, lakes and ponds. Its eggs are laid in a shallow depression lined with plant material and down making the Fox River the perfect habitat for these geese to migrate to. Canada Geese are primarily herbivores, although they sometimes eat small insects and fish. You will find them eating a lot of green vegetation and grains. An interesting fact about these birds is that they will tend to fly in V formation while migrating for the winter.
