From left to right, it's Abraham, Issac, and Jacob--named by a visiting Methodist minister in 1916--names as good as any other.

This was my second visit as an adult--the other was only two years ago. I also visited briefly as a child when about 13 or 14. I remember as we drove through the canyon, I was in awe of the beautiful buttes and noted many had wooded flattish tops. I had detailed fantasies about living in a cabin on the top of one of these buttes, complete with a makeshift, hand-operated elevator. In this cabin in the sky, I lived mostly on eggs from a bunch of chickens I brought with me, as well as a small orchard and monthly trips to a grocery store in the nearby town, though I had to be careful as I kept my existence secret from the rangers. I continued to think about that from time to time for years. It was never remotely a serious fantasy--just an escape from my, occasionally, unhappy life. :-)

This is a Pano combining five photos using a 35mm lens.
