From my whirlwind tour of Arches at the very tail end of my latest winter trip through the Southwest. I'd intended to spend at least an entire day here, but to no one's surprise, I tarried too long at previous stops and found myself entering the park with sunset a bit less than two hours away and no time to stay for photos in the morning. As I noted elsewhere, my intention was to do nothing else but photograph Delicate Arch, which I missed during my previous visit. Instead, with such beautiful light at my disposal, I tried to squeeze in other photos as well. Naturally, I missed out on Delicate altogether because of these extra stops and then MISSING MY TURN. Oh well. :-)
Needless to say, I was very happy that a nearly full moon decided to put in an appearance!
I decided to add this to a number of groups today (2/12/25) after seeing another photo of these formations that had quite a few more faves--even though it lacked any clouds or moon and was taken much earlier in the day, as opposed to the golden hour as this one was. It also did not include all of the formation (I'm not saying the other photo was bad, just not as good). I've always found it a mystery how some photos accumulate a lot of faves while a superior photo does not (I'm not referring just to my photos). Anyway, I gave this pic a slight facelift--i.e., tweaked it a bit in Lightroom, improving it a smidge.
