M.L. King Watching over 16th Street Baptist Church

During my 2016 annual spring trip to Florida, both going and coming back, I made several stops along the "Civil Rights Trail"--this one in Birmingham, Alabama. This is the 16th Street Baptist Church--a center of the civil rights movement in the late 50's/60's. This is where white supremacists planted a bomb which killed four little girls and nearly killed another.

It was pretty dark by the time I took this, darker than appears here, and the resolution ain't what I'd like.

When I first uploaded this, I carelessly referred to the church as the "Ebenezer Baptist," which it most definitely is not. That church is in Atlanta.
