GRAFENWOEHR, Germany - German 2nd Lt. Lars Honig, a member of the Sanstff Mainz, performs a standard U.S. Army push-up during the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) as a pre-qualifier for the U.S. Army Europe Expert Field Medical Badge (EFMB)Standardization and Testing, July 27. Multi-national candidates are required to meet the same standards to participate in the EFMB as U.S. Army candidates to include an APFT, qualification on an M16A2 rifle, and Basic Combat Lifesaver. After completing these events the candidates move on to a fast-paced testing phase where they are mentally, physically and emotionally challenged. All candidates will need to successfully complete night and day land navigation, emergency medical treatment, a 12-mile foot march and other tasks to recieve the coveted Expert Field Medical Badge.(U.S. Army photo by Spc.
