Variable Message Sign, specifically for bicycles. This is the first time I've seen anything like this anywhere. The sign was placed on the Hudson River Greenway, at about 15th Street to warn cyclists about slow downs due to a concert on Pier 54. Long lines queue up next to the greenway and crowds must cross the bike path to get to the concert, sometimes lingering there accidentally. The full text of the sign is as follows:
"6PM to 11PM Bikeway Congestion
River Rocks Pier 54 Tonight
BETWEEN W15th St & Ganesvoort"
