Divinity under Construction

Elephants and Peacocks are not found in this part of the world. One would occasionally find chortens and stupas depicting them. These stupas at Thiksey are new. But even some old ones depict peacocks. There appears to be some cross-cultural influence. India is indeed a cultural potpourri.
