GRANDIZER close-up
Much as I dislike Kennywood Park (amusement parks aren't to my tastes), the presence of one of my childhood Shogun Warriors there as a kiddie ride never fails to put a smile on my face. I've seen others of this ride featuring several UFO ROBOT GRANDIZER in a couple of other parts of the US, but this one is in excellent shape for its age. This was made in the early 80's by a company called Zamperla. The park officially calls it simply "The Orbiter". Those of us who had SHOGUN WARRIORS when we were little would know it better as "Solar Saucer".
Later in the night after the kids' section closed, a ride op manager lit it up for me so I could take more nice pictures.
I'd love to find one of these at a flea market someday....
