Corporal Clarence Hawkesford

We recently received a letter from the council to tell us that our home had once been the home of Corporal Clarence Hawkesford of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. He died or was killed in action on 6 September 1917.

 

This photo is one of the most haunting I took over the summer. A field of poppies, shrouded in mist and lit up by the rising sun.
