First one man operated bus in the UK.
Leyland Titan PD2/37 / Weymann 'Aurora' 23 (23 ACD) one of a batch of four (21-24) delivered to Brighton Corporation in May/June 1978 was to become a very historically significant vehicle. On June 15th 1966 it became the first one man operated double deck bus to run in the United Kingdom. Following trials on local services 26A and 46A a number of other vehicles were also converted. These pioneering OMO double deckers remained in service until withdrawal in 1977. As well maintained vehicles, these Titans were sought after by
independent operators. 23 initially passed into preservation, but from 1985 until 1991 served as a driver training vehicle in the Coventry area. On July 3rd 1994 23 was photographed attending the Coastline Bus Rally at Lancing in West Sussex.
